Reto 2017Sold Out
Castilla la Mancha, Cuenca
At the ripe old age of 23, Juan Antonio Ponce (pronounced pon-thay) left a coveted position in the winemaking team of Spanish giant Telmo Rodriguez, to found Bodegas Ponce in the region of Manchuela.
Reto is produced from the almost extinct white varietal Albilla de Manchuela, which is no relation to the more common Spanish Albillo. As of 2014, Ponce was the only producer using this varietal which produces something surprisingly similar to Chenin Blanc with notes of apple and fresh hay. - Importer Note
