Cuvee du Chaos - Fleurie 2018Sold Out
The Bertrand estate was established in the 1950’s by Louis Bertrand, located in a special part of Beaujolais called ‘Grand-pré’. This area straddles Fleurie and Morgon, rich in sandy granitic soil. The estate has a line of schist running through the property, and in comparison to other vineyards of Fleurie, theirs are 80% more sandy.
This 1.1 hectare vineyard has been farmed with biodynamic principles since 2013. The vines range from 50-100 years and are planted on sandy grantic soil with a pink vein. Elevage in old barrels and Demi-muds of white and red wine origin, for 7-9 months. This jumps out of the glass, raspberries and sun kissed cranberries. The tannins are fine, the palate is long, precise and salivating. A wine of finesse yet complexity - Note from Wine & Food Solutions
